Don't get angry
Don't worry
Be grateful
Work hard
Be kind to others."

The Five Reiki Principles
~Dr. Mikao Usui, Founder of Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word often translated as Universal Life Energy. It is a natural healing system that functions on four levels; emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. It balances the body's energies, loosens up blocked energy and promotes a state of total relaxation. After being attuned to Reiki, all that is necessary is for the intention of healing to be sent to the animal in need. Animals love Reiki and respond very favourably to this healing energy. If your animal chooses to accept Reiki, they intuitively know where the energy should go, and how long the treatment should last for.  This healing energy is channeled through me to your animal.  Reiki has its own intelligence and adjusts according to your companion's needs.

Reiki supports the body's natural ability to heal itself.  It is relaxing and your animal may even fall asleep during the Reiki session.  Reiki can assist physical recovery if your animal has had surgery or been injured.  It can help lift your animal friend emotionally following trauma, neglect, or abuse.  It can also provide healing in times such as grief, despair or fear.

I frequently offer Reiki during an animal communication.  It helps strengthen the connection, deepening intuition and overall enhancing the communication.

Reiki is defined as a channeling of universal energy by the laying on of hands, but it is frequently done by distance with my animal friends.  I do in home visits for clients in the White Rock/South Surrey region if requested.  It may be of interest to note that in general, the smaller the animal the more sensitive they are to the Reiki energy.  A hands-on treatment may offer more energy than what your animal desires.  If so, they will intuitively remain at a distance for their treatment.
